Obituary for Clarence R. Braden

Clarence R. Braden, 86 years, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home in Cranberry, PA.

Born July 17, 1927 in Goin, TN, Clarence was the son of the late Charlie and Frances (Duncan) Braden. Clarence moved to Monroe, MI in 1944.

Clarence served his country honorably and proudly during the Korean War in the US Army. Clarence served from September 15, 1952 until August 24, 1954. For his valor Clarence was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

In December of 1966 Clarence married his beloved wife, the former Hazel M. LaVigne in Monroe, MI. Sadly, she preceded him in death on February 20, 1997.

While living in Monroe, Clarence worked for Chrysler's Trenton Engine Plant and for Groulx Battery in Monroe. Clarence moved to Pennsylvania in 1973. While in Pennsylvania Clarence owned and operated Braden's Logging Company until his retirement in 1989.

A hard working and dedicated family man, Clarence enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and working on automobiles.

Clarence is survived by his son: Ralph Braden of Rocky Grove, PA, two grandchildren: William "Jay" and wife Kellie Braden of Oil City, PA and Robert and wife Maurice Braden of Knox, PA, two great grandchildren: Robbie and Autumn Braden, a brother: Dewey and wife Betty Braden of W. Farmington, OH, and a sister Fannie Fox of Monroe, MI.

In addition to his beloved wife Hazel and his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dennis Weaver, pastor of Christ Fellowship Church in Venus, Pennsylvania will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors.
