Bloom, died yesterday forenoon at the hour of 10:00 o'clock, at the home of her sister, Mrs. James Mumma, Ridge avenue, after suffering a protracted illness from heart ?. Her maiden name was Mary E. Horn, a daughter of Washington and Anna Horn, and was born in Pike township, this county on May 9th, 1858, making her age at the date of her demise 69 years, 10 months and 7 days. She was married to Allen M. Bloom about 48 years ago.
Deceased was well known to many people in this section as one of lovable, Christian character, ever ready to minister to the sick and unfortunate up until the time health failed her. Her husband died some few years ago, and now she is gone leaving a trail of sorrow and grief among the children and relatives and friends who survive her. Those of her children living are Mrs. Baker Passmore, Mrs. Wm. Bell, Mrs. Clarence Keller, Monroe B. and Baker Bloom, all residents of Pike township. She is survived also by one sister, Mrs. James Mumma, this place and one brother, Monroe Horn, of Brady township. The funeral will be held from the Mumma home on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Ref. Finout officiating. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery.
