Odell, Ill-Dr. George F. Blough, 87, Peoria, a former Odell physician, died unexpectedly Thursday at 7 pm at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Finnegan, with whom he lived.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 am at St. Paul Roman Catholic church. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery.
Friends may call at the Watson funeral home after 11 am Sunday. The rosary will be said at 8 pm Sunday.
He was born Jan. 25, 1872, at LaGrange, Ind., a son of Philip and Louise (Kline) Blough. He lived in Kansas during his boyhood and then in Lincoln, Ill., where he attended school. He was graduated from the University of Illinois and the U. of I. medical school in 1903 with honors. He started his medical practice at Camp Grove and came to Odell in 1917, practicing here until his retirement in 1953.
He was married to Catherine Colgan at Camp Grove on June 14, 1911. She died June 5, 1958.
He was a member of the Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include eight sons, the Rev. EC Blough, Princeton; Dr Paul, Peoria; Dr. George, Lawrence and William, Chicago; Joseph and David, Davenport, Iowa; and Richard, Galesburg; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Schmidt, Mrs. Ruth Call and Mrs. Anida Finnegan, Peoria; Mrs. Mary Saletta, Chicago; Mrs. Rita Legget, Santa Ana, Calif; and Mrs. Emma Verdun, Odell; 60 grandchildren, and a brother, Blaine, Springfield.
Two sons, John Philip and Francis preceded him in death.
