Her brother Silas Farmer was a famous author,and historian for the City of Detroit.

She was a volunteer for the LADIES PROTESTANT ORPHAN ASYLUM of Detroit Michigan,her mother Roxanna Farmer was one of the founders.
She was a advocate for womens' rights,right for women to vote.
