Lincoln, NE. Passed away peacefully October 16, 2013 with family by her side. She was born in York on March 2, 1929 to Henry and Dolores Kaspari. Following graduation of St. Joseph's High School she attended the college of St. Mary's in Omaha. She was united in marriage to Max Meradith August 18, 1949 and they farmed east of York until 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Max Meradith; her parents and brother Clarence Kaspari; as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. She was a 67-year resident of rural York before moving to Lincoln in 1997. Her lifelong passions included dancing, traveling, and her four boys. Laurene was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York and later St. Peter's Catholic in Lincoln. Laurene and Max were longtime members of the Guys and Dolls Square Dance Club in York and attended Dances at the Flying V Ballroom in Utica for many years. She is survived by four sons, Steve, (Cathy) Meradith of Lincoln, Stan (Regina) Meradith of Bennington, Stuart Edward Meradith (Quinton) of Boston Massachusetts, and Scott (Kathy) Meradith of Lincoln; 5 grandchildren and brother Don Kaspari and sister-in-law Jackie Kaspari of Lincoln as well as brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Maxine Stahr of York and many nieces and nephews. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10am at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3500 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln. Rosary will be at 5:30pm at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St, Lincoln, on Friday, October 18. VISITATION will be Friday, October 18, 2013 from 9am to 9pm. Private burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in York, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
