DEATH OF MRS. G.N. RUDI

Survived by 36 grandchildren and 22
Great Grandchildren-----Was 85
years of age.

Mrs. G. N. Rudi died at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. A. Knudson
near Sawyer, on Monday, March 8,
at the age of 85 years, 5 months and
2 days.

Deceased was born in Norway, in
Valbo annex, Ostre Slidre Valders,
October 6th, 1829, her maiden name
being Ingri Jageron Nyhagen. She
was united in marriage to Guldbrand
Nilson Rudi when 18 years of age,
and seven children were born to
them, five of whom are now living.
In the spring of 1870, the family
came to America and took up their
residence near Decorah, Iowa, where
they resided until the spring of 1876,
when the family moved to Brooklyn
county, South Dakota, where they
took up land under the homestead
free claim act, and where Mrs. Rudi
resided with her husband until his
death, which occurred in 1891, and
eight years later she rented the
place and moved to Brooklyn, S.D.,
where she lived until 1909, when
she moved to Wisconsin, and took up
her residence with her oldest daugh-
ter, Mrs. A. Knutson, of Sawyer,
where she resided until her death.

She is survived by five children,
Mrs. A. Knutson of Sawyer, Nels
Rudi of Volga, S. D., George Rudi of
Brooklyn, S. D., Knut Rudi of Mc-
Gregor, Minn., and Mrs. S. Strom of
Summit, S. D. Those from outside
attending the funeral were George
Rudi of Brooklyn, S.D., and George
V. Jogerson of Neenah, a brother of
the deceased.

Besides five children she is sur-
viyed by a brother, 36 grand children
and 22 great grandchildren.

Deceased was a member of the
Lutheran church since childhood, and
was a member of Tanum Lutheran
church at the time of her death, from
which church the funeral was held on
Thursday, March 11th, at 2 o'clock
p. m., Rev. O. N. Jordheim officiat-
ing. The remains were laid at rest
in Tanum Lutheran church cemetery.
