David F. Marney, 54, of Freeport died Sunday, 24 October, 2010 in his home following an extended illness.

David was born November 8, 1955 in Athens, Tn., the son of Albert E. and Ruby J. (Manning) Marney, Sr.

He was a truck driver for most of his adult life. Later he spent years as a maintenance mechanic.

David loved to fish and boat, was an avid gun collector, and a lifelong motorcycle rider.

Mr. Marney is survived by his daughter, Angie Walker. His mother of Freeport. Three brothers; Michael (Tina) Marney of Freeport. Albert (Connie) Marney of Freeport and Bobby Marney of Monroe, Wisconsin. Four sisters; Wanda (Riley) Bowers of Mt. Morris. Cathy Zimmerman of Monroe, Wis. Mary Ellen (Tom) Williams of Forreston and Deborah ( Dave) Reed of Freeport. Also numerous cousins nephews nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be Friday, 1:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Jarred will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Entombment of cremains will be in Oakland Mausoleum.
