Bessie Catherine Hill Oliver, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed away peace fully June 18, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Murray, Utah, attended by members of her immediate family.

She was born March 18, 1904 in Park City, Utah, daughter of William Sheridan and Elizabeth Buchanan Hill. She grew up in Salt Lake City and lived in Murray for over sixty years. She married Charles (Chick) Oliver April 2, 1927 in Farmington, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died February 20, 1960. She and her husband established and operated several businesses on 5900 South and State Streets including a service station and tavern. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as homemaking leader in the Relief Society, Sunday School teacher, and holding other positions. She loved her children and grandchildren, and they will always remember her kind and generous actions.

She is survived by her two daughters: Barbara and her husband Vere McHenry of Murray, and Beth Sanchez of Scottsdale, Arizona; also eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Virginia Cady of Murray.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 noon at the Murray 21st Ward, 41 West 6280 South. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., Murray, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Interment Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East.
