Jerome E. Sortman, age 73, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away October 17, 2013, at Flower Memorial Hospital due to an acute infection process. Jerry was born in Dayton, OH, on September 15, 1940, to Louis C. and Charlotte C. Sortman.
He married Judith E. Whitticar on September 17, 1960. They resided primarily in Findlay and Toledo, Ohio. He retired from the food brokerage business, serving Northwest, Ohio. He was a retired deacon of the Diocese of Toledo serving St. Agnes and Christ the King Parishes.
Jerry is survived by his children, Cathy Miller (Mark Owen), Ellen Sortman, Jim Sortman, Christopher Sortman (Christina Sortman), and his grandchildren, Rebecca Miller, Nicole Miller, Michaela Sortman, Brandon Sortman, Andrew McClain, and Skylar Campbell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith E. Sortman, and his brother, Louis Sortman.
