Opal Eunice Lee Garrett died on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005.

She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Harper, Texas, to Nancy Rose Sagerser and John Phillip Mabry.

She married Judge Garrett on June 4, 1939, in Carlsbad. They lived in Silver City and Reserve until 1947 when they moved to Bellview. In 1952, they moved to Clovis where they were members of Central Baptist Church. She wrote commercials for a local radio station, worked for Production Credit and was an abstracter for a local title company for many years. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2004 where she was a member of the North Fort Worth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Camille Tafel (and husband Dr. Bob Tafel); sons, Art Garrett, (Carol); Jack (Libby); two granddaughters; Connie and Jennifer; and three grandsons; Geoffrey, Matthew, and Joshua.

Rev. Dick Ross will officiate.

The casket will be closed during services. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
