Raymond A. DePiro Sr., age 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his home in Grove City, OH. He was born November 22, 1942 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Anthony and Inez DePiro.

He is survived by
his loving wife of 49 years, Carlene DePiro;
his 3 sons, Tony, Joe and Raymond Jr. DePiro;
his daughter, Teresa (DePiro) Gauthier and her husband Robert Gauthier;
his 2 sisters, Bernice DePiro and Pamela (DePiro) Shatynski and her husband, William Shatynski;
8 grandchildren, Jonathan DePiro, Dante Depiro, Ashlie, Maximus, Madison and Mason Gauthier, James and Taylor Conner;
1 great grandchild, Adysen Conner;
nieces and nephews, Gregory, Christine and Lisa Shatynski.

He was a graduate of Eastside H.S. in Newark, NJ. He earned his Associates Degree in Business from the Altoona School of Commerce. He retired from the Insurance business after 43 years of service. He worked for Met Life and Monumental Insurance. During his time in the insurance industry he received many awards and had many accomplishments. His success took him and his family from the East Coast to the West Coast and some places in between. He even spent 6 years in Canada with Met Life. He did a lot of traveling but his 2 most memorable trips were to Hawaii with his wife Carlene and Disney World with his family and grandchildren.

He was an avid sports fan. He liked football and boxing, but he loved baseball. He himself was a very accomplished pitcher in baseball and at one time played for a farm team in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He didn't have a lot of hobbies, but the one thing that really brought him joy was going to watch his grandchildren play in the sports they were involved in. Special thanks to Paul and Loretta Endicott for all their help during this time and also to Rick and Jennifer Williams.

Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH with Father Dan Millisor, Celebrant. A graveside service at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Mt. Washington, KY.
