Frederick "Fred" Barnell was born December 9, 1953, in Muncie, Indiana, to Frank and Betty Barnell. He died on Thursday, October 17, 2013, in Oklahoma City. Fred was the guy you loved to have on your side. He was loving, dependable, genuine, and quite frankly, the most easygoing guy you could meet. Fred spent 30 years of his working career at GM until his retirement. More recently, he had served as a County Deputy for Cleveland and Oklahoma Counties. Fred was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Lacy; and a sister, Toni Miller. He is survived by his wife, Diane Barnell; son, Brad Barnell; daughters, Danielle Abney and husband Johnny, Traci Davis and husband Craig, and Terri Donahoo and husband David; eight grandchildren, Ashlea, Devin, Zac, Drew, Lacee, Kolton, Scarlett, and Brik; one great-granddaughter, Blayklea; as well as his siblings and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Fred will be 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at Ford Funeral Service. Services celebrating his life will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 21 at First Baptist Church of Moore, with burial following at the Resthaven Cemetery, Shawnee.
