~ Great-Aunt Irene was the daughter of Hamilton and Martha Jane Shrake-Crafton. She had a pair of diamond earrings set in silver. When she lost one, she took the remaining one to a Peoria Jeweler & had it made into a lovely tiny baby ring (as her sister, my Grandmother Violet was pregnant). Irene told Grandmother, if she gave birth to a girl, Irene would give Grandmother that ring for the baby. Grandmother gave birth to my father (the only child she would ever have). Grandmother talked Irene into giving the baby ring to her, for my father .. . it was to be passed down in each future generation, to the first born. My mother received the ring for me. I then received the ring for my oldest. I presented the beautiful little ring to her for her oldest. She took pictures of the ring on his little finger & gave the pictures to me. Unfortunately, the rings' whereabouts today are unknown. I am hoping to locate the photos of it.~
