Eugene Joe Yen, born September 4, 1948, in Dallas, Texas. Eugene spent most of his life working for Safeway, and spent his final years working for Kaiser Permanente.
He was a loving father, doting grandfather, devoted brother, supportive friend, and an all around kind soul.
He is survived by: son Michael and wife Beth, daughter Kristi, son Steven and wife Liz, grandson Devin, granddaughter Alexis, granddaughter Leilani, grandson Dustin, brother Jimmy and wife Connie, brother Sammy and wife Lisa, sister Jennie, sister Meralea Riso, sister Lorene, the Yium family, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind many wonderful friends.
Preceding him in death are: grandfather Richard Wong, grandmother Li Yong Wong, father Wai Yen Joe, mother Kim Cook Joe, brother Don Joe Yen, and brother-in-law Jonathan Riso.
Visitation will be held on July 15, 2011 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, CA from 5pm to 7pm.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary on July 16, 2011 at 11am.
