Laurie was born in Chicago, IL, and resided there for the first 39 years of her life. While in Chicago she met and married Bernard "Barney" E. Trainor in 1943. Barney preceded her in death in 1989. In 1961, Barney and Laurie moved to the Sacramento area with their four children. Laurie could frequently be found in her garden, at the bridge table, at the movies or shopping with friends. The Trainor family has been affiliated with Our Lady of Assumption parish since 1966. Her life continues to be celebrated by her four children: Michael J. Trainor of Carmichael, CA, Kathleen Horton of New York, NY, Dan P. Trainor of Placerville, CA, and Lauri Trainor Hagan of Ossining, NY; one daughter-in-law, Sheryl Yetto Trainor; one son-in-law, Tony Hagan; five grandchildren, Lucy and Will Horton, Ryan and Hillary Trainor, and Orla Hagan; two sisters, Eleanor and Dolores; and her extended family, including her many bridge club partners. Friends are invited to attend a vigil on Thursday, Oct. 6, with viewing from 5:00-7:00 PM at SIERRA VIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, Oct. 7, at Our Lady of Assumption Church 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
