Lloyd Thomas DeJaynes, 73, of Fowler, died at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday (June 20, 2000) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born Oct. 25, 1926, in LaPrairie, Mr. DeJaynes was a son of Jesse and Mary E. Ecklebarger DeJaynes. He married Lulu Mae Havens on March 11, 1951, in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. DeJaynes attended LaPrairie schools. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church and drove the church bus for 17 years. He retired from Midwest Patterns in 1989. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theater.
Survivors include five children, Pamela Cantrell and her husband, George, of Clayton, Stanley DeJaynes and his wife, Kathy, of Kelso, Wash., Michael DeJaynes and his wife, Pamela, and Janet Hayden and her husband, Jim, both of Quincy, and Diana Keokham and her husband, Xanexay, of Mount Sterling; two brothers, Donald DeJaynes of LaPrairie, and Joe DeJaynes of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Nora Harden of Camp Point and Frances Irvin of Quincy; 11 grandchildren, David and Geordan Cantrell, Amanda Blumke, Candice Scalise, Melissa, Anthony, Alex, Brandon, Dustin and Austin DeJaynes, and Molliny Keokham; a step-granddaughter, Marci Schutte; and three great-grandchildren, Machaela and Anthony Cantrell, and George Blumke III.
Mr. DeJaynes was preceded in death by an infant son; four brothers, Victor, Delmar, Emil and Elmo DeJaynes; and two sisters, Ila Gunn and Mary DeJaynes.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Tabernacle Church by the Rev. Randall Pate and the Rev. Charles Mitchell. Entombment will be in Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with the family meeting friends 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Tabernacle Church.
