Cole Charles Nelson was born to Clint and Robin on June 3rd, 2004.
On December 17th, 2012 we discovered Cole had a mass on his brain. Two days later, he had surgery to remove the mass and the doctors diagnosed Cole with an aggressive brain cancer.
After a ten month courageous battle with cancer, on October 15, at the age of 9 years, 4 months and 12 days our Hero's spirit went to Heaven and he gained his angel wings.
At an early age, Cole showed great interest in trains. His first engine was Thomas and his collection grew from there.
Cole also loved being outside. You could find him riding in the tractor with his dad, mowing, riding bike or playing in the dirt with his tractors and pay loaders and right alongside him was his sister Lilly. They both loved being outside together.
If Cole could have, he would have lived at a campground every summer. Our whole family loved to camp and go fishing. Clint bought a boat because Cole said "shore fishing is so boring, daddy".
Cole loved to fish and was very good at it. You did not bother him when he was fishing so he would not miss his "big" catch.
Cole tried AAU wrestling and baseball but Cole told us that he thought basketball was going to be his sport.
He was always the center of attention in the room. He always made everyone laugh and he always enjoyed life.
Cole is survived by his parents Clint and Robin, his sister Lilly, grandparents Stanley and Karen Schaeffer of Menno, SD; Warren Nelson and special friend Gloria Martin both of Sioux Falls, SD and Charlene Nelson of Winner, SD, great grandmother Mabel Mayes of Winner, SD. Aunts and uncles Renee and Dan Harter of Minatare, NE, David and Katie Schaeffer of Yankton, SD, Sarah and Chance Tucker of Welch,OK, Gerrad and Lucinda Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD. Cousins Dalton, Daci and Dani Harter, Anjeliena Schaeffer, Dalani Tucker, Wesley and Grant Nelson.
Along with numerous great aunts and uncles, distant cousins and numerous friends.
