Jimmy Ball was born Aug. 1, 1927 at Long Lane, MO the son of Gromer and Versie (Gann) Ball. He departed this life on Oct. 20, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo at the age of 86.

He served his country during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 and spent the remainder of his life on the farm in Dallas County.

Mr. Ball is survived by one sister, Ada Retasket (Steve) of Oroville WA. four nieces: Bonnie and Husband, Gary Rice of Buffalo, Connie and Husband, Eric Byerley of Battlefield, Sharon and Husband Ed Parker of Washington, Stephanie and Husband Jason Haney of Washington; two nephews: Dwayne Retasket of Arizona, Jason and Wife, Wendy Retasket of Oregon and a number of Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and friends who will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Dollie Dill, Ersie Ball, Nyna Perryman, and Ruby Haney. Funeral services will be held Wed. Oct. 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with Rev. Dennis Skinner officiating. Recorded Selections of "Sweet Beulah Land", I'll Fly Away", and "Amazing Grace" were played. Casketbearers were: Sonny Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Eric Sanders. Matt Young, William Byerley, and Roy Percival. Burial with Military Hoonorwill be in Maple Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Montgomer-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be Wed. from 10:00 a.m. to Service time.
