Almira was the daughter of Francis Pearce and Elizabeth Redford. She first married Edmund Taylor in Richmond on 24 October 1837. They had at least four children: Emmet; William Myrtland, who was killed in action at the Battle of Antietam/Sharpsburg while serving with the 12th Virginia Infantry; and two others.

She next married Louis Bossieux in Washington, D.C. on 27 February 1860. They had at least one child, Cyrus Gray.

Almira is buried in her husband Louis's plot, near him and her sister Rebecca.
