Katherine was the first woman to lead the Philadelphia Department of Labor. She died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Chestnut Hill. Katherine is survived by her sons William (Mame), James (Sarah), John (Bea) and daughter Katherine (Egon) and many Grandchildren.
