This online memorial was created in loving memory of Ken Benson, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign Ken's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Ken forever.

We all will miss Ken dearly. He was always positive. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was a hard worker and respected by his friends and colleagues. We are still stunned by the realization that he is no longer physically with us.

He loved his family. He adored his Mom and Dad and was so proud of his Brother. He would brag about how amazing his Mom is and how she loves to invite friends to her pottery studio. And he would tell stories about how great his Dad is and how much he respected him. He was always talking about the latest project his brother was working on. He was always thrilled about the family's successes.

He talked about his grandma and grandpa and told stories about them with a twinkle in his eye. He loved his family dearly.

And his friends...

Every Friday, we would have "Margarita Friday (MF)." Ken and his friends would go to either Fiesta del Mar Too, Mountain View, or Roberto's Cantina in Sunnyvale, to celebrate the end of each work week. The tradition started over 15 years ago when his friend, George, and he met while working at Sun. We celebrated life together; we would discuss movies, politics, family, vacations, jokes, hobbies, quirks, and became an extended family. Because of Ken, the group of MFers, as we called ourselves, could be as small as two people, to over 16 people, dining and celebrating life together, sometimes, at one very long table at the restaurant.

We have such good memories.

He left a company of colleagues who are also friends. He will be missed terribly.

Ken has been part of the Intermedia family for over 7 years! His passion to provide the best support for our people and clients was vibrant and a true example of the heart of Intermedia. As you can imagine, there are many that he touched within the company. At 49 years young, Ken left us far too soon. He will be remembered with great appreciation, warmth, care and so much more.

Message from Ken's Boss at Intermedia:

It is with great sadness that I share with you that one of our own Intermedia family, Ken Benson, passed away Saturday night in his sleep. We received the news from his family members yesterday.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ken over the last 15 months, and like all of you who have known him longer during the seven years he worked here, I have had such an appreciation of his boundless enthusiasm for life. He was so dedicated to Intermedia and to leading the TAM team, and had been working hard on his vision to enhance the function and showcase the great work of his TAM team members.

Last Friday, Ken and I discussed his annual review where he received a promotion to Manager. I had hoped to be writing his promotion announcement today, as I was very happy for him. I wanted to share with you the work he and his team had delivered on over the last year, projects that will continue to be his legacy: Implementing the ROC program to showcase the quality of the TAM customer touchpoints, driving to include the TAMS team in the Support Heroes Program, implementing Stakeholder Notifications and Salesforce to align with our Sales stakeholders, contributing to the Continuing Education strategic project, and delivering a Worry Free customer experience through publishing the Run Books for clients' special handling procedures. Ken had a lot of pride and joy in his work and his team, and these achievements.

We spoke of his plans for TAMS for the coming year and his energy and excitement for the opportunities ahead. As always, he was charged up and eager to continue to build the TAMS function.

Ken was committed to the highest standards of customer service; he was available 24/7 to stakeholders and customers, and he was a passionate advocate for his team. He was a great communicator, and reflected the heart and soul of Intermedia. He was a hard worker who always took time to celebrate the end of the week with his "Friday Margaritas" friends. Ken loved his family, and his descriptions of the laughter and fun at their happy celebrations showed their closeness. A good soul, gone too soon, his energy, positive outlook, and genuine joy for his friends, and for the work he did will be greatly missed.
