AURORA — Joyce Lavon Kliewer, 82, of Aurora died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Hamilton Manor.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora. Pastor Barb Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Kliewer was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Sutton to Earl and Bessie (Beat) Willcock,

She was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Kliewer, and a son, Dave Kliewer.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Kathryn Kliewer of Aurora, and Deryl and Deb Kliewer of Hampton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheryl and Vern Newman of York, Sandra and Richard Barngrover of Aurora and Shirley Howell of Aurora; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Elvera Willcock of Stockham; and a daughter-in-law, Jean Kliewer of Kearney.

Others surviving include a sister-in-law, Agnes Kliewer of Aurora, and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce grew up in Stockham. She attended school in Hamilton and Clay counties. Joyce was united in marriage to David J. Kliewer on April 28, 1950, in Stockham. Following their marriage, they moved to Sidney, then moved to Hastings and then back to Stockham. In April of 1963, they moved to Aurora. Dave passed away on Nov. 21, 2012.

Joyce was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Travis Kliewer; granddaughter, Sheila Howell; and sister, June.
