Harley Edwin, son of Daniel B. and Hattie Freeman, was born atCenterville, Iowa, on Sept. 20, 1881, and departed this life June 6, 1935, at his home in Lacona at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 17 days. After alingering illness of several months. He moved with his parents to a farm
near Lacona at the age of five years and spent almost his entire life in that community, with the exception of a few years spent in Dallas.

He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Jane Dhabolt on March 31, 1908, who preceded him in death on August 12, 1927. To this union twelve children were born, all of whom are living except two sons who died in infancy.

Those left to mourn his passing are his children, John Freeman and Mrs. Thelma Crawford, of Melcher; Martha and Arthur Freeman, who were in Alexander, Minn., at the time of his death; Rosebud, Winifred, Evelyn, Fenton, Betty and
Arley Freeman, of Lacona; also four grandchildren and his aged mother, Mrs. Hattie Freeman, and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Ethel Strain, of St. Charles; and Mrs. Fern Stierwalt, of Lacona. His father and one brother, Pearl, preceded him in death.

When a young man he was baptized and united with the Christian church at Lacona. He was a.....rest of paper illegible........
