At a very young age Isabel married John Beggs, and together they operated the pump which pumped water from Bowden Lake through pipes to the railway station for the steam locomotives. John Beggs was a first class marksman and several of his medals are in the possession of Walter Dunlap. Isabel nursed John through a lengthy illness and he died in 1917. Isabel nursed in the Olds Hospital during the First World War. She married John Dunlap in 1919. She died in Bowden at the age of 87, and is buried in the Bowden Cemetery. Walter, their only son, farmed in the Bowden area. He married Jean Brown, a daughter of Hugh and Doris Brown, a pioneer family of the Little Red Deer District.
