PROVO, March 22-Samuel Adelbert Gardner, 60, 290 N. 6th East, died Sunday morning at his home in Provo. He was born Oct. 19, 1887, in Salem, Utah county, a son of Samuel and Rachel Shields Gardner. He received his education at the Salem schools. He married Louise Hopper in 1916. They moved to Spanish Fork in 1930, where his wife died in 1932. He moved to Provo in 1944, where he had been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include two sons; Max A. Gardner, Salem; Verl S. Gardner, in the U. S. air force at Fort Sumter, S. C.; three daughters; Mrs. Mike Mack, Murray: Mrs. Melvin Parks, Orem; Mrs. Albert W. Jensen, Salt Lake City; six brothers: E. Ray Gardner, American Fork; Charles Gardner, Salt Lake City; Frank Gardner, Compton, Cal.; Clark Gardner, Springville; Fay and Carlos Gardner, both of Spanish Fork. Four sisters; Mrs. W. L. Benfer, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Albert Gasser, Payson; Mrs. William Barney, Lake Shore, Utah county, and Mrs. Jack Francom, Payson. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Provo Eighth ward D. E. Cameron, bishop. Friends may call at Valley mortuary, Provo Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday morning prior to services. Burial will be in Spanish Fork cemetery.
