In Memorium. Burzilda Olds Messinger was born February 5, 1849, at Lafayette, Yamhill County, Oregon. She died at the home of her youngest daughter, near Wasco, June 13, 1917.
She was married to John William Messinger September 11, 1867, near Lafayette. To this union eight children were born, five sons and three daughters, all yet living.
She united with the Baptist church while young and had continued her membership until her death.
She leaves two brothers, a sister, husband, eight children; Edgar G. of Wapato, Wash.; Otis B of Moro; Fred R. and Mrs. Flora Coon of Grass Valley; Jacob I. and Albert L. of The Dalles; Mrs. Ann Rust of Sherar Bridge and Mrs. Myrtle Kaseberg of Wasco; 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

BURZILDA OLDS, daughter of Ruel Reed Olds and Elmina Perkins Olds, was born near Carlton, Yamhill County, Oregon, Feb. 5, 1849. On Sept. 11, 1867, at Lafayette, Oregon, she married John William Messinger. They moved to Moro, Oregon, in 1889, and were engaged in farming in that vicinity for many years. She died in June, 1917, at Wasco, Oregon, and is buried at Moro. Her husband died in 1920 at McMinnville, Oregon, and is buried in the Rose City Cemetery at Portland. The children of John William Messinger and Burzilda (Olds) Messinger were: Edgar; Otis Benny; Flora; Frederick; Anna; Ira; Alber; and Myrtle.
