Betty Louise Baronner, 89, Altoona, died Wednesday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John K. and Dorothy H. (Bowers) Williams. She was the devoted wife of Paul Francis Baronner Sr., whom she married on June 28, 1942, in Cumberland, Md., and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1988.

Surviving are two children: Paul Francis Jr. (Gertrude) of York and Betty Louise Cavender of Altoona; five grandchildren: Bruce Baronner (Amy), Brian Baronner (Steph), Domenick Bisignano (Colleen), Renee Toney (Charles) and Michelle Cavender-Webb; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Walter W. Williams of Sinking Valley and Donald L. Williams of Johnstown; two sisters: Beatrice E. Carpenter of Chicopee, Mass., and Ethel E. Burket of Altoona; special neighbors: Diana Hite and Pauline Bowers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four siblings: John L. Williams, Bessie I. LaForm, Helen L. Williams and Dorothy R. Williams.

Betty retired from the Quality Control Department of GTE Sylvania. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and especially enjoyed keeping up-to-date on the lives of all her family members, close friends and neighbors. She enjoyed attending Blair Senior Services picnics with her family and sitting on the porch visiting with friends and family. She and her husband enjoyed camping with Allegheny Mountain Campers.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at noon at Stevens Memorial Chapel by Chaplain Tony Conrad. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2000 L. Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-4916.
