Robert Kibbe, 84 a longtime resident of Hampden passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT., on September 5, 1929, the son of the late Lester H. and Frances I. (Bartlett) Kibbe. Robert was educated in the Hampden School System and he graduated from Trade High School in Springfield. He owned and operated his Family Business Kibbe and Sons Dairy Farm in Hampden for many years. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by one son Robert Kibbe, a brother Ernest Kibbe and a sister Dorothy Kelly. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-one years of marriage Joan (McCrystal) Kibbe of Hampden, four devoted children Paul Kibbe and his wife Joan of Virginia Beach, VA., Catherine A. Flechsig and her husband Walter of Ocala, FL., Anna E. Dufresne and her husband Tom of Hampden, and Brian K. Kibbe and his wife Nancy of Ludlow. He also leaves three brothers Alfred Kibbe of Somers, CT., and Raymond Kibbe Hampden and James Kibbe of Hampden and one sister Margaret Crapser of Somers, CT. He also leaves eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Home Service on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10A.M. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA 01118.Burial will follow in Baptist Village Cemetery (corner of Hampden Road and Parker Street) in East Longmeadow.
