OCEANA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY NEWSPAPER DEATH NOTICE:
MRS. LODEMA A. ADAMS - 83, passed away at her home on Elliot Street, Shelby on Monday evening. Mrs. Adams had stated during the day that she did not feel well but she had not been confined to her bed. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ott, born in Burnaby, Ontario on Nov. 8, 1862. She came to this community when a young girl and was married to Ezra Putney on March 21, 1888, and they lived on a farm near Ferry until Mr. Putney's death on June 10, 1900. Mrs. Adams then moved to Shelby and in 1928 married Charles A. Adams who died in 1929. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Shelby Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry Hill, Burnaby, Mrs. Maynard Stambaugh, Lansing and Mrs. Mildred Shaw, Traverse City; two sons Harold Putney, Muskegon and Dewey Putney, Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Cook, Fort Erie, Ontario, and two brothers George and Henry Ott of Burnaby. There are five grandchildren including Miss Harrietta Shaw who made her home with her grandmother prior to enrolling in Muskegon Junior College last September. One son, Joseph, died at his home in Olivet last summer. Funeral services will be conducted from Cooper Funeral Home this (Friday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. Al Near will be in charge of the service and burial will be made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
