SPRUCE PINE- April 6 - Mrs. Emma Hughes Lewis, 52, died today in her home in the Poplar section after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of Grover Hughes and the late Mrs. Hughes.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 in the home. The Rev. Gibbs Adkins ill officiate and burial will be in the family cemetery.
She was married 30 years ago to Elzie Lewis who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband are five daughters' Mrs Hual Hoyle of Flag Pond, Tenn, Misses Edna, Ruth, Reba Lewis of Erwin, Tenn and Miss Zula Lewis of Poplar. Also one son Fred Lewis of Poplar; two sisters, Mrs. Mack Barnett of Poplar and Mrs. Troy Griffith of Relief; two brothers, Water of Flag Pond, Tenn, and Jim Hughes of Huntdalte; the father, Grover Hughes of Huntdale and one grandchild.
