Robert M. Welch, a well known farmer of the east part of Knoxville township, and a resident of the county during the past fifty years, of Flagler, at 10:30 on the evening of Saturday, June 9, 1906, after a sickness of almost exactly one year. Death resulted from Bright's disease.

Robert Moore welch was born in Mahaska County, Iowa, July 13, 1849 and at the time of his death had reached the age of 56 years, 10 months and 27 days. He removed to this county, with his parents when only a small boy and grew to manhood in the near vicinity of the place of his death. On Dec. 2, 1875, he was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Hayes. To that union eight children were born, all of whom, with their mother, are still living. Deceased had been a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church for many years was well respected and had numerous friends. He leaves, besides his widow and children, three grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.

The funeral services were held at Plymouth church on Monday, June 11, conducted by Rev. J. H. Burma of the Knoxville Presbyterian church. Interment is Breckenridge Cemetery.
