Armando Castro passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after his battle with cancer. His military service included 35 combat missions during WWII as a tail gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress during the battle of Normandy. He received numerous decorations including

Distinguished Flying Cross, Army Air Corps Air Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Armando spent many of his happiest moments playing golf with his buddies, working in the garden, watching sports on TV, and doing woodworking projects. He was also the head usher at St. Angela's Merci Church for 62 years and a member of the Fullerton Elks. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Alice; 4 children, Sylvia, Virginia, Phyllis, and Armando; 7 grandchildren as well as 5 great-grandchildren.

Viewing to be 6-8 PM Friday, 9/27 at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary. Mass will be 10 AM, Sat. 9/28 at St. Angela Merci Catholic Church, Brea. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
