A memorial service for Dorothy J. Emery, 67, Kansas City, and formerly of Baldwin City, was Monday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin City. Mrs. Emery died Nov. 5, 2003, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park.
She was born June 1,1936, at Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Ray and Mary (Wells) Carpenter. She attended Central High School, Kansas City, Mo.
She was a licensed practical nurse and a disc jockey. She later worked at Koch Marketing Co., and the Allied Plastic Factory, both of K.C. She also drove a taxi and worked as a security guard.
She married Eugene Emery July 18, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include five sons, Jessie Ray Emery and Harold William Emery, Texas; Robert Eugene Emery, Kansas City, Mo.; Richard H. Emery, Overland Park, and Randall Lynn Emery, Kansas City; one brother, Lonnie Bert Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Emery was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Walter Gerald Carpenter, and one sister, Mary Carpenter.
Inurnment was at Prairie City Cemetery, Baldwin City. Memorial contributions may be made to Ives Chapel United Methodist Church and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
