Born December 1, 1895 in Grayson County, Va., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Martha Brown Byrd.
She had lived in Bramwell most of her life and was a member of the Bramwell Wesleyan Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Tarney Adams in 1975.
Survivors: daughters, Louise Allen of Churchhill, Tn., Argie Whitley of Hays, Erma Lucas of Freeman; sisters, Maggie Church of Tampa, Fl., Mae Shumate of Rural Hall, N.C., Jemie Charles of Winston-Salem, N.C.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel, Bluewell, with the Rev. Michael Dickerson officiating and entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Bluewell.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
