Enlisted on Sept. 9, 1861 at Hannibal, Missouri as a Pri. in Company K,(Capt. William Forbes) 10th Regiment of the Missouri Volunteer Infantry. And was mustered into service on December 31, 1861 at Macon City, Missouri by Capt. Smith.
Killed in action May 14, 1863 at Jackson, Mississippi. It is unknown at this time if he has a headstone or not.
