Mrs. Mary Binney, 84, of Detroit, Mich., a former resident of this city, died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Barr, in Detroit. Mrs. Binney was born in 1863 in Wales, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Reece. With her parents she came to this country at the age of 10. The family later moved to Dawson, where she married Joseph T. Binney in 1890. The couple moved to Springfield in 1891 and resided on N. Twelfth St until 1918 when they moved to Detroit. Mrs. Binney had returned to Springfield for visits several times since. She was last here in 1947. She was a member of the Security Benefit association.
She is survived by four sons, William, city; Henry, Pontiac, Mich.,; Floyd, Detroit, Mich., and Roy, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Hood, Mrs. Rose Arnold and Mrs. Clyde Barr, all of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Potter, city; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
