Reggie Nell Foley, 71, of Groesbeck, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved family members on Monday, October 28, 2013, while surrounded by family and dear friends at Windsor Healthcare Residence. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Groesbeck Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Groesbeck, with Reverend Steve Nance officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Reggie was born in Groesbeck, Texas, to the late Charles Reginald Wakefield and Nettie Elizabeth (Howell) Wakefield. She graduated from Groesbeck High School, Class of 1961, and upon graduation, went to work for Lyle's Ford Motor Company. She also worked later for Jimmy Hirth at his John Deere dealership, and then worked until her retirement in 1999 at the Limestone County Tax Office.

Reggie Nell was united in marriage with Carl Dan Foley on April 3, 1976, and they spent an enjoyable life together until his tragic and untimely death in 2003. Reggie spent endless hours accompanying Carl to rodeos and ropings. She liked to travel, and especially loved their vacations to the Casinos, where she was a "winner." After Carl's death, she carried on his memory with the annual ropings held by his friends in his memory. Her companion was her rat terrier, Mickey Mouse, and she took pleasure in reading Western novels, visits to the Spa, eating out with friends, and especially enjoyed a cruise with girlfriends two years ago.

Reggie was preceded in death by her husband Carl Foley; and brothers, Windell Wakefield and Glenn Wakefield.

She is survived by her brother, John Wakefield Sr. and wife, Linda, of Houston; nephew, John Wakefield, Jr. and wife, Kristi, of Houston; niece, Debra Bucko and husband, Walter, of Spring; great-nieces and nephews, Adam, Eric, Amy, Dusty, John, Sidney, Ranie, Reis; good friends, Dede and David Elmore and their family, Daryl and wife Rachel Elmore and their son, Blayne Elmore; Sumer Elmore; and many other family and friends.
