John G. Phillip, age 61, of 16733 W. Hillcrest Rd., Reedsville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his residence.

John was born April 11, 1952 in Maple Grove, to the late George and Viola (Feil) Phillip. He attended St. Patrick's Grade School in Maple Grove and was a 1970 graduate of Reedsville High School. John had a passion for agriculture, landscaping, and the outdoors his entire life. He worked side by side for many years with his dad, running the family farm; and later worked for Country Visions Co-op in Reedsville for 28 years. John was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt, spend time in the woods, ride ATV's, and enjoyed nature. He was a longtime member of the Reedsville Sportsman's Club and the Reedsville Athletic Association.

On November 7, 1992, he was married to Michelle Prodell at St. John's Church in Luxemberg. Over the years, the couple worked the concession stand for many basketball games at Wayside School, and helped out at the Knights of Columbus stand at the county fair for many years. John was also very involved with the Reedsville Wrestling Club and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle; one son, Eric of Green Bay; one daughter, Morgan, attending U.W. - Oshkosh; his "Thai Daughter" Polly, attending Marion College in Fond du Lac, and all of Morgan's many friends who were his "adopted daughters". He is further survived by a brother & sister-in-law, Don and Judy Phillip of Green Bay; three sisters & brothers-in-law: Ruth and Don (Ebert) Noack, Kellnersville, Audrey and Jim Ebert, Colleen and Roger Meidl, all of Whitelaw; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ron and Fay Prodell, Rio Creek; a brother-in-law, Shawn (Jenny) Prodell, Rio Creek; step-mother, Dorothy Komoroski-Phillip, Manitowoc; Michelle's grandparents: Elmer and Ruth Prodell of King, WI; and three godchildren: Danielle Tortorice, Jonah Eickert, and Dillon Prodell; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John "Jack" Ebert, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside. Rev. Steve Kline will officiate at the service, with burial to take place at a later date.

Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, October 21, 2013. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
