Hugh D. Gookin, 84, died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009) at his home in rural Galva.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Bible Church in rural Galva.

Hugh D. Gookin, 84, died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009) at his home in rural Galva.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1924, in Charitan, Iowa, to Harley and Rebecca Dewy Gookin.
He was a missionary for 17 years, serving in Venezuela.
He married Lena Fast on Aug. 29, 1948, in Salem, Ore. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Randy (Marlys) Gookin of Elk Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Becky (Dwight) Goering of Galva and Berdie (Jeff) Bowlsby of San Ramon, Calif.; one brother, Roger Gookin of Salem, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
