Captain John A. Anderson was the captain of the fishing vessel S.S. Titania. ON a fishing trip to the Grand Banks, Capt Anderson was taking a sounding with the vessel's lead line when he became entangled in the lead line which pulled him overboard. He sank before anything could be done. His body was never recovered; however, his widow had his name engraved on this monument in Oak Grove.
