ROSCOE - Charlotte Jean DeRango, 43, of Roscoe, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 in Rockford Memorial Hospital of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Born Nov. 25, 1956 in Rockford, the daughter of Charles and Gwen (Tallman) Kirschbaum. Graduated from Boylan Central Catholic High School, where she particularly enjoyed art classes and Explorer Scouts. She met and married her high school sweeheart, Steve DeRango. Employed at Baldwin-Enkel Corporation for 12 years. Past member of A.B.W.A.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; daughters, Rebecca and Elisabeth; parents, Charles and Gwen Kirschbaum; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Fischer, Beverly (Michael) Derry, Pamela (Al) Bell, Kathleen Genens, Susan (David) Sigwart, and Anne Marie (Nic) Juric; brothers, David (Susan) Kirschbaum, and Steven (Erin) Kirschbaum; mother-in-law, Joyce Barlow; numerous in-laws; many favorite nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and special pet, Nala. Predeceased by maternal grandfather, John W. Tallman, and paternal grandparents, Max and Elida Kirschbaum.
Charlotte's kind heart and giving spirit touched everyone she met. She was the pulse of our large family as well as her immediate family. She meant so much to so many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral mass will be held at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 8 in St. Peters Cathedral, with Monsignor William Schwartz and Father Christopher Kuhn concelebrating. A private family burial will be held. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 in the cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in care of the family.
