James Henry Bass, 75, of 310 Berckman St., Fruitland Park, died Wednesday (Sept. 28, 1988) at home. Born in Holt, he moved here from there in 1931. He was a citrus grower and a member of the Community United Methodist Church where he served on the trustees and administration board. He was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club. Survivors include his mother, Amie Bass of Pensacola, wife, Minnie; two daughters, Theresa Urgelles of Winter Park and Betty Lou Forbes of Orlando; five sons, Bill and David, both of Grand Island, Tommy of Mims, Danny of Fruitland Park and Jim McKnight of Palm Bay; two sisters Ray Curbello of Okahumpka and Christine Nall of Pensacola; three brothers, Marvin of Crestview, John of Leesburg, and Gerald of Lynn Haven; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
