Mr. A. Van Patten passed away at 2:15 a.m. November 2nd, being unconscious up to the time he died. Funeral will be held at Congregational church Friday at 2 pm. Mr. Van Patten was born at Rotterdam N.Y., January 12, 1827. He was a miller by trade, which business he has always followed until recently. Mr. Van Patten was married to Miss Nancy Kittle March 28, 1848. She was the daughter of David Kittle, who was well known in Schenectady, N.Y., as a leading millwright manufacturer and contractor. In those days Mr. Van Patten settled in Albion in April 1875, locating at New Centerville. In 1889 he removed to Sand Bank where he has since lived. He was [unreadable] his ancestors being among the first settlers in Schenectady county, N.Y.

Altmar-- The remains of former Postmaster Aaron Van Patten, who died in 1892 and was buried at Altmar cemetery, were exhumed yesterday by Undertaker V.D. Pierce and taken to Onondaga Valley cemetery near Syracuse, for burial.
