The body of Charles L. Augustine, 62 yrs old and son of Mrs. Jennie Augustine, 419 Center Avenue, was to arrive on a Milwaukee train at 3:55 p.m. today from Prescott, AZ, where he died in a government hospital at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. His home was in Tempe, AZ. A veteran of World War, Augustine served nearly three years overseas, in a machine gun company. Prior to the World War, he was a scout for Gen. John J. Pershing, in Mexico. Augustine was a member of the American Legion post at Mace, AZ. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jennie Augustine of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Griffith of Frankfort, MO, and Mrs. B. B. Hall of Ottumwa, and two brothers, Dr. J. L. Augustine of Ladora and Dr. Grant Augustine of Council Bluffs. The body was to be taken to the Daggett funeral chapel pending final funeral arrangements.

The body of Charles L. Augustine, who died in Prescott, AZ, will arrive in Ottumwa Sunday night at 11:45 and will be taken to the Daggett funeral chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the residence of Augustine's mother, Mrs. Jennie Augustine, 419 Center Avenue. The Rev. Walter C. Plank, pastor of the Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Agency, with military honors. Pallbearers will be members of the Ottumwa legion post which will furnish a firing squad.

Charles Augustine, male, White, single was born March 17, 1869 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Father: Peter R. Augustine, born Pennsylvania. Mother: S.J. Bubb, born Illinois. Occupation: miner, metal. Residence: Tempe, Maricopa County, Arizona. He died in the Veterans' Administration Facility (hospital), Whipple, Yavapai County, Arizona. At the time of his death at 8:42 P.M., April 19, 1933 he was age 64 years, 1 month, 2 days. Cause of Death: Accident on April 8, 1933; spinal cord injury, cervical region, general paralysis. Manner of injury: Wrestling, presumably [in or at] a public place. The Informant for the Certificate was C.C. Benedict, Act. Clin. Director. He spent 9 days in the VA facility. Removal of remains to Ottuma, Iowa on April 21, 1933.

NOTE: Whipple, formerly known as Fort Whipple, is the location of a U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital. Whipple is located within the city limits of Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona.
