Ferne Fraze, age 95, of North Platte, passed away October 31, 2013 at North Platte. She was born November 20, 1917 to Jesse and Ilah (Floyd) Taylor. Ferne was a 1935 graduate of Minden High School. On July 3, 1939 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Fraze in North Platte. They lived in Maxwell and later moved to North Platte where she was a supervisor in the district office for Northwestern Bell. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in North Platte and the Telephone Pioneers. Ferne loved to travel, crafts, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and reading. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including Dean (Donna) Kittle of North Platte, Donn (Shirley) Kittle of Owatonna, MN and Jean (Roger) Pramberg of Gothenburg; sister-in-law, Donna (Don) Mentzer of North Platte; and countless great, great-great, and great great great nieces and nephews. Ferne was preceded in death by her loving husband, four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, November 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in North Platte. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
