Allen V. Doran, 84, Bemidji, died Sunday at North Country Hospital. Funeral services were at First Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

Mr. Doran was born Feb. 14, 1901, at Bemidji the son of John and Beatrix Doran. He grew up and attended school here and worked with his father in the plumbing business, later becoming proprietor of Doran Plumbing Company. He retired in 1980.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member and past exalted ruler of BPO Elks 1054 of Bemidji as well as a past northern Minnesota district deputy presidents for the Elks. He was instrumental in starting the Bemidji Curling Club and was a member of AF &AM Masonic Lodge of Bemidji, Knights Templar and AAD Temple Shrine. He served with the Bemidji Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years and was a member of the original group that organized the Bemidji Fish Fry Crew. He married Ruby Case in Bemidji Sept. 1, 1919.

He is survived by his wife; a son Herb, Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
