Mrs. Emma M. Steenbarger, 65 years old, widow of Charles E. Steenbarger, passed away today at noon at her home near Clifford following a five months' illness of cancer. Mrs. Steenbarger was taken ill last February but her condition did not become serious until a few weeks ago. For the past several days, her death had been expected momentarily.
Mrs. Steenbarger was born and reared in the neighborhood where she died and spent all her life in this county. Her maiden name was Emma M. Everroad and her parents were pioneer residents here. She was married early in life to Mr. Steenbarger, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. From early girlhood Mrs. Steenbarger had been a member of the Christian Church and as long as health permitted she was an active worked in the church circles. She was a most lovable woman and was greatly likes by her scores of friends and acquaintances.
Surviving are the following children, George B., Leonard P., William T., Myron, and Miss Mary Steenbarger at home; Charles of Jackson, Michigan; Maurice of Flint, Michigan,; and Mrs. Bernice Clouse of Muncie; and one brother, Clell Everroad, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Hendrickson of Clifford.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Clifford Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. O. E. Haley of Bicknell, Indiana. Burial in the Liberty Cemetery.
