Louis Charles Ashauer, 76, of 109 South Kansas St., a retired construction worker, died Sunday at 9:25 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Pletcher funeral home with interment in Woodlawn cemetery. The Rev. W.C. Hahn of Eden United Church of Christ will officiate. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Ashauer was born Dec. 6, 1886 at St. Jacob, a son of William and Nettie Isenberg Ashauer. He married Lillie Kurtz in Edwardsville on March 22, 1914.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Gammill, Chester and Elmer Ashauer, all of this city, and Miss Josephine Ashauer, Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Ben F. and William of Edwardsville; a sister, Mrs. George Elizabeth Millhousen, St. Louis; and six grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Mrs. Ashauer was a member of Eden church and Edwardsville Laborers Local.
