Martha S. Brown of Hermitage passed away at 8:52 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, in her home. She was 61.

Ms. Brown was born Feb. 16, 1950, in Youngstown to Ronald K. and Phyllis I. Edwards Jones.

Martha retired from the Shenango campus of Penn State University, Sharon, after 23 years of service, and was also an in-home caregiver.

She attended First United Methodist Church, Sharpsville.

Martha enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and being around her family, friends and pets. She had a great sense of humor and loved gambling.

Surviving are: her children, Paula Stoke and her husband James, Wheatland; Tisha Brown, Sharon; and Jamie M. Brown and his wife Tammy, Hermitage; grandchildren, Malia, Gianna, Nico, Luciano and Sophie-Grace Brown; and Savannah Sagenich; sisters, Wendy Jones-Tarr and her husband Donald, Hermitage; Charlene Creed and her companion Chuck Stahl, also Hermitage; Rosalyn Smith and her husband Chip, Sharon; and Melanie Hess and her husband Daniel, New Wilmington; and brother, Ronald Jones and his wife Karen, Columbus, Ohio.

She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Phyllis Jones; brother, Dana Tice; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Tice.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Sharon Regional Health System Hospice staff and Cancer Center of Hermitage and to Carmella Carlson for her devotion to her aunt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
