She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Drakes, and son Thomas Michael Drakes.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Ditto Clark and her husband Jim Clark, of Macksville, Kan.; a daughter, Patricia A. Panther and her husband Robert, of McKinney, Texas; and a son, Robert S. Drakes and his wife Shari, of Hot Springs.
She had 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Jean retired as Director of Admissions from Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Hot Springs and opened a well-known antique and consignment shop ("the Antique Showroom"), where she and her husband made many lasting friendships.
At her request, there will be no services.
The family will receive friends at the residence from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
